Founder, Dollar Digest

I'm an IBDP student at Oberoi International School in Mumbai. I started Dollar Digest after realising I could read a headline about OPEC or the Fed and still have no real idea what was actually happening. That bothered me enough to do something about it.

What started as me forcing myself to understand things properly turned into a weekly newsletter. I write about oil markets, central bank decisions, corporate earnings, geopolitics, whatever I've been trying to wrap my head around that week.

Everything is written for someone who is curious but not a finance professional. No unnecessary jargon, no filler. I also try to cover stories from a genuinely global angle, not just the US and Europe, but India, the Middle East, East Asia. That perspective was missing from most of the economic content I grew up reading.

The honest version of why I started this

I Read a Headline About OPEC and Had No Idea What It Meant

I was 15, reading the news on my phone, and there was a headline about OPEC+ cutting production. I had a rough sense that this was about oil, but I couldn't tell you what it meant for prices, or why it was news, or who it affected. I looked it up and found either Wikipedia-level basics or dense analyst reports I couldn't parse. There wasn't much in between.

That gap is what Dollar Digest tries to fill. I'm still a student. I'm learning this as I write it. But writing every week has genuinely made me understand things I never would have otherwise. If it does the same for a few readers, that's enough.

I'm 16, studying the IBDP at Oberoi International School in Mumbai.
